Brigid Delivers Hope Determined
first effort—In the Money! After a
disappointing Summer that included several setbacks for the Mojo faithful, the
Partnership’s remaining Runner, Saint Brigid (a 2YO Filly by Chapel Royal, out
of a Mr. Prospector mare Pleasing Prospect), brought home some much-needed hope
to the masses with her debut at Kentucky Downs on September 16, 2008. The
race-day weather was exceptionally pleasant.
A slight breeze was blowing across the open
“She did really well and moved like a professional when I asked her to go between horses,” Mojica told Trainer John Good. “The dips of this track can be strange for an inexperienced horse, and I feel like if this had been a flat surface, she would have won. I want to ride this Filly again in her next race.” Returning from the barn area, our Trainer remarked, “The Filly’s understandably tired; but Brigid ran a good race and I think we have something to work with. There are no problems with her. She got a workout and the experience she needed.” The next day, John reported that SB had eaten all of her supper when she returned to HighPointe; she is sound; and she will get back into her training program in a couple of days. After an effort like this, it looks like Saint Brigid has her Mojo workin' for some fantastic Fall racing! Mojo Race Time! September 2008 Saint Brigid's Début Our Patroness The race conditions: Race 4 - $25,000 purse. Maiden for Fillies Two Years Old at six furlongs over the European-style turf racecourse. Post position 3. Since this will be SB's first race, it's difficult to say how she'll do; but you can be sure that all Mojo Partners are very excited to see how she's going to run. Regardless of the outcome, it'll be a lot of fun watching this filly make her debut. |
