Saint Brigid Finishes 4th at Churchill Downs!

November 5, 2008

On a beautiful Fall day in the Bluegrass State, Saint Brigid demonstrated much-improved form underneath the Twin Spires.  Though she was outmatched by unexpected fast fractions and a couple of horses that perform better over the dirt, she held on to finish a game fourth.

After the race, Mojo Trainer John Good said, “I think we’ll see better results on the turf; but there aren’t any options out there for her until next Spring.  So, I’ll be looking for something over the Polytrack at Turfway Park next month.  I believe we have to throw out the race at Keeneland (last month) because she wasn’t in the best frame of mind going in and just wasn’t relaxed.  If she had run the first part of the race at Keeneland like she did at Churchill, then she would’ve been on the board.  Despite the result, she ran a good race at Churchill—unfortunately, she drew into a field of horses that (the top three finishers) were more like a Maiden Special dirt company.”

“She's got a great attitude and looks fantastic," said Trainer John Good.  "The only thing she needs is a win under her belt, and we're going to try to do that with this race."  We'll see if SB gets her Mojo Workin' under the legendary Twin Spires!
