Wild About Annie Returns to Texas!

The Mojo Filly arrived at Diamond D Ranch that afternoon for some well-deserved R&R over the Holidays.

“The Filly pranced off the trailer and was happy as she can be.  She really looks great!” reports Diamond D Manager, Scooter Dodwell.

After reviewing WAA’s works while she was in Kentucky this Fall, and considering our racing options this Winter, we decided to give Annie a short break.  She’s in very good physical and mental condition; she’s alert and gives an honest effort every time she works out; and she’ll be in a more-competitive position racing at Lone Star Park during the 2011 Spring Meet.

“While this is contrary to our initial racing plans at the Fair Grounds, in this sport, you have to be flexible and do what’s right for the horse,” Managing Partner, Fred Taylor, says.  “Mojo is fortunate to have the benefit of a nice race track in our backyard, and we look forward to seeing Annie run with other Texas breds this Spring.”

Switching gears in this regard gives Annie a little rest, as well as some additional time to mature and grow into her big frame.  “We’ll resume Annie's training in January, and have her ready to go in April,” Scooter says.  “I think she’ll be better suited at Lone Star, and we can have some fun with her this Spring.”

Wild About Annie

The Mojo Filly continues to gallop daily and breeze once a week.

Annie's in good physical and mental condition; she has smooth motion and finishes nicely after each work; and she returns to the barn happy.

WAA is responsive to the Trainer's schooling; but she still needs more time to improve her fitness and maturity.
