Mojo Race Recap: Bling
It On Baby's Amazing Debut!
Mojo's promising two-year-old Filly, Bling It On Baby, made her racing debut in a 6 furlong Maiden Special sprint on Thursday, September 11.
Entered in Race 4 at Remington Park, Bling It On Baby (by Pomeroy out of Majestic Glitter) lined up against 9 other runners (there was one scratch)—five of which had previously raced.
“Going into the race, we knew that Bling was a talented racehorse based on her works,” explains Mojo’s CEM Fred Taylor. “That said, since this was her first race and a very talented field of horses that she was racing against, we really didn’t know how she would handle the competition. But she proved she’s for real and ran even better than her published works suggested.”
The footnotes for the race describe Bling’s fantastic performance: Bling It On Baby dueled from between foes for the early lead; gained a clear margin entering the turn; widened the effort at the eighth pole; and was well clear while never asked. Bling completed the race in 1:10.79.
“Of course, we’re all smiles after this type of amazing effort,” Fred says. “I’m very excited for our group, and we’re thankful for the fantastic job JR (Mojo’s Trainer) and his Team have done to get Bling ready to race. We’re all equally mindful of how special this type of talent is, and we fully appreciate the blessing the racing gods have given us to place her in our barn!”
How is Bling doing this morning? “JR said she’s great,” Fred reports. “There’s not a hair out of place, and she’s as cool as the other side of the pillow.”
So what’s next for Bling? “There are several options that I’m considering,” JR said. “But I haven’t decided what we’re going to do. We’ll see how things are going in a couple of weeks, and make plans from there.”
Bling It On Baby has her Mojo work’n and looks to have a promising future as a Mojo Runner! Stay tuned for more exciting Mojo racing action to come…
