Upcoming Plans for Wild About Annie
After speaking with Diamond D Ranch and our Trainer, we’ve decided to keep Wild About Annie “turned out” for a couple of additional months (through May). We will resume her schooling at Diamond D the first of June, and then ship her to Kentucky in August to begin working with our Mojo Trainer.
You can be sure that WAA is in good health and she is enjoying the R&R in her Diamond D paddock.
Our decision is based on our racing plans—the Fair Grounds later this year. Since the 2010-2011 Fair Grounds meet doesn’t get started until mid-November (around Thanksgiving), there’s no need to rush this promising 2YO.
Wild About Annie is a big filly (16 hands) that’s bred to go two turns. During her initial breezes (February 2010), she demonstrated a calm (but determined) demeanor and a good turn of foot. Thus, we want to give her some additional time to stretch her legs and let her bones/muscles mature before we re-start her training program.
Recently, a few WAA Partners visited Annie on her birthday, and several pics of the celebration have been posted on the Mojo Facebook page.
