Wild About Annie Update
Annie's Summer Slumber
On last check with Diamond D, a recent x-ray of Annie’s left knee showed progress; but the crack still hasn’t filled in completely. So, WAA needs another month in the paddock, and new set of x-rays will be taken in August.
Other than that,
the Mojo Filly is doing well. Annie has
filled out quite nicely and is
growing into her big body. If the vet
gives us the green light in mid-August, then we will be ready to begin
conditioning around the first part of September.
If all goes according to plan, then Annie might be ready to go to the track in December. As such, we’re tentatively setting our sights on racing at the end of the year and running Annie at the Sam Houston Race Park (SHRP) Winter Meet (that’s in Houston, TX). Naturally, Annie still has a lot to do (needs to be cleared by the vet and get in shape) before this can happen.
The good news is, there's no news to report - which is what we want at this stage.
Annie is doing well. She’s currently turned out in a paddock at Diamond D Ranch while we wait for the crack in her knee to naturally fill in.
In July, the vet will take another x-ray to see how the bone is coming along. Until then, patience is the key while Annie's on the road to recovery.
