Happy New Year from the World Wide Mojo Headquarters

After taking a month off, Saint Brigid returns to racing!  Our Patroness ran two races in January at Turfway Park.

On January 11, SB was entered in the 6th race at Turfway Park - $30,00 Maiden Claiming.  She pressed the pace for the first three furlongs, and when she started to fall back, the Jockey wrapped her up at the quarter pole.  Brigid crossed the wire to finish 9th.

Not getting a lot out of Brigid in her first appearance of 2009, we dropped her in class and entered the 3rd race at Turfway Park on January 24 - a $7,500 Maiden Claiming.  SB ran a much-better race this time out.  She broke well; was out in front down the backside; maintained her position in the turn; but, unfortunately, got passed by a couple of stalkers down the stretch.  That said, Brigid was able to hold on to finish 3rd.  That result is the first time Mojo has "hit the board!" - we're very proud of Sister Brigid's bounce-back effort!

Saint Brigid's Cumulative Race Results Summary:  4th (Kentucky Downs); 6th (Keeneland); 4th (Churchill Downs); 9th (Turfway Park); and 3rd (Turfway Park).

Mojo Outlook

We will continue racing at Turfway Park throughout February and March to try to get that elusive win and break Brigid's maiden.  Looking forward, Mojo Racing Partners are planning on a Texas homecoming in April when Lone Star Park begins its 2009 Thoroughbred Meet.

So, stay tuned—there will be more exciting news to come.
