Mojo Update
February 2011 Wild About Annie Training Postponed On Thursday, February
17, after WAA returned from her morning gallop, Diamond D detected some
heat
in her left front knee. The vet’s
x-ray
revealed a small, lateral hairline fracture in one of the carpal bones
(in the
joint between the forearm and cannon bones). The Filly is not in pain;
she’s able to stand on the leg; and she’s able to walk
around freely. Surgery is not
necessary, and the vet recommends that we give Annie 60 to 90 days off
to allow the
crack fill in and heal on its own. In
this regard, Annie will be turned out to paddock at Diamond D for
several months. At this time, our
plans to race Annie at Lone Star Park this Spring will be a longshot. If all goes well, we hope to have Annie back
in training around June to prepare for mid-to-late Summer racing. Stay tuned for the latest
