Wild About Annie's Third Breeze

Annie continues to demonstrate encouraging results and she completed her third breeze at 3/16th of a mile (a furlong and a half) in 18.4 seconds.  That's a solid time and it matches the performance of The Man at the same stage of his promising development.

Annie will now be "turned out" for a month so she can rest and to let her bones/muscles rejuvenate.  During March, the vet will check out her legs and throat to make sure they are all in good shape.

In a preview of what's to come, Annie will resume her training in April; and she'll be introduced to the starting gate before being shipped to the Mojo Trainer.

Until then, here's to good Mojo!

Wild About Annie's Second Breeze

Working "in company," WAA posted a time of 12.2 seconds for 1/8th of a mile (a furlong) breeze.  That was again one of the best breeze times of the day for the horses who worked at Diamond D Ranch.  (In comparison, Annie's second breeze time is one second faster than Hollywood Pegasus' second timed breeze at the same distance.)

The plan is to breeze WAA one more time on Friday, February 26 (weather permitting).

After that, Annie will be "turned out" (rest in a paddock) for the month of March.  During her time off, the vet will x-ray WAA's legs and examine her throat to make sure she doesn't have any ailments.  If all's well, Annie will return to training in April (during that time, she'll be introduced to the starting gate).

The Latest Activity with Wild About Annie

I'm pleased to report that Wild About Annie is off to a good start as she demonstrated a nice turn of foot in her first timed workout at Diamond D Ranch.

Annie worked with several runners and she posted a time of six seconds flat for a 16th of a mile (half furlong breeze).  By comparison, that was one of the best breeze times of the day for the horses who worked at Diamond D.  (It is also 1.2 seconds faster than Hollywood Pegasus' first timed breeze.)

WAA's next scheduled breeze is Friday, February 19 (weather permitting).

News from the Mojo HDQ has been limited lately because the World Wide Mojo Computer has been going through some much-needed and extensive hardware and software upgrades.  It's also tax season (blah!).  So, we've been "heads down" since December (with green eye shades on) getting geeky to make sure our business is in order before the Spring racing season begins!

Thank you for your patience, and stay tuned for the latest Mojo News to come!
