Easy Work

On Friday, August 27, the Mojo Filly completed a nice-and-easy, steady gallop around the Diamond D training track.  She worked four furlongs in :53 and change.


Annie has graduated from her second stage of schooling and she is ready for the next level of race training.  In this regard, the plan is to coordinate transportation to Kentucky so she can get settled in at HighPointe Farm and Training Center.

Three Furlongs Breeze (from the gate with company)

On Friday, August 20, the Mojo Filly was put to her biggest test (to date) at Diamond D.

Annie was sent from the starting gate and she breezed three furlongs with another filly.  WAA performed very well in many aspects:  She broke well; pressed the pace; gained the lead going into the turn; and completed the breeze in :36.8 (her fastest work thus far)!  These are very exciting accomplishments for Mojo--Annie is right on track; moving forward; and continues to show promising results.

Annie will have one more workout (an easy 1/2 mile breeze next week), and then she'll be shipped to Kentucky to begin her training with John Good.

Gate Schooling

On Thursday, August 12, Annie was introduced to the starting gate.  There were no problems at all.  She loaded just fine; she was on her toes; and she came out without a hitch each time.  Annie's a perfect student—three times in, three times out.

Three Furlongs Breeze

On Monday, August 9, Annie worked 3/8ths of a mile (three furlongs) in :38.8 (in hand).  It was an easy breeze, and the training track at this time of year is deep and slow due to the excessive heat.  Given the conditions, Annie posted a pretty good time for that distance.
